Who We Are
Sivlik ADV Training & Tours is designed for experienced riders looking to take their adventure off-road and will teach the fundamentals of riding on unpaved roads and trails.
While the spirit of adventure can take many forms, the essence of adventure riding will take you on a journey that combines long distances filled with paved and unpaved roads. When you sign up for the Sivlik Training Course, you will learn the techniques and best practices that differentiate safely riding on and off-road so you are prepared for adventure!
Our tours are an immersive experience exploring both paved and unpaved areas within the seven districts of the Gila River Indian Community. You will experience and learn about the culture and history of our Akimel O’otham (River People) people and our community.
About Chris Woodard
Sivlik means Whirlwind in the Akimel O’otham native language. My grandfather christened me with this native name and that is why I chose it for my business. I have been fortunate and blessed to ride a motorcycle for most of my life. I am a former motor officer and a Motorcycle Safety Foundation nationally certified instructor and Harley Davidson Rider Academy instructor. I was the first MSF certified ADV Instructor in Arizona and I am a BMW MOA Foundation Trainer. I’m the first Native American ADV Instructor in the United States while also being the first to provide motorcycle ADV training within our Gila River Indian Community. I have been a member of the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association for the past 15 years and have enjoyed teaching and introducing riders of all ages to the amazing experiences of life on a bike! I look forward to continuing the journey and sharing my culture and experience with riders as they learn to navigate and explore the world around them on a motorcycle.
